Plan B is a 1-minute video in the style of a nature documentary. The focus, however, is not on live bees but on a pollination robot called BrambleBee. Comprised of found footage, the video follows the robot as it traverses an artificial orchard, identifies a plant with a bloom, and pollinates the flower. The music is playful, my voiceover is tongue-in-cheek, but the message is a critique. The title is a silly pun for the serious contingency planning the ag-tech is investing in, in case our insect pollination is no longer able to keep pace with our agricultural systems.
