“For our Ecoartspace 2024 annual show, I worked with over twenty-five artists from across the State of Texas to create a pop-up exhibition on the weekend of the solar eclipse in early April, in the path of totality in Austin.
We’ve only had a handful of members in Texas since 2020, and since this unique celestial event was to happen there, it was an excellent opportunity to explore the work of artists making ecological work in the number one state for energy production (primarily oil) in the US. I wondered: could there be progressive Texas artists who want to make a difference? Well, the answer is definitely yes.”

The Wright Gallery in the School of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts / School of Architecture Texas A&M University, marks a ten-year milestone with an exhibition titled “10 Years 10 Artists,” on view Jan - Mar 2024, includes works by a selection of ten artists who have exhibited in the past decade.
In this video, artists in the exhibition discuss their work on view and reflect on the impact of their initial exhibition at Wright Gallery. Artists include: Catherine Allen, Jennifer Chenoweth, Tommy Fitzpatrick, Bryan Florentin, Jenn Hassin, Mayuko Ono Gray, Ann Johnson, Brian Piana, and Lisa B Woods.

Oliver Franklin Award
Big Medium and the Friends of the Elisabet Ney Museum announce Lisa B Woods as the honoree for the Second Annual Oliver Franklin Award. Honoring Oliver’s tireless efforts to support the art community, the award offers an unrestricted grant of $5,000. The award is a collaborative initiative by Big Medium and the Friends of the Elisabet Ney Museum, established to celebrate and recognize outstanding women leaders in the arts.

Beyond City to City - Artist Talk
Laura Odegaard, acting cultural arts division manager for the city of Austin's Economic Development Department, led a discussion about the exhibition BEYOND CITY TO CITY: A UNESCO Media Arts Exhibition, held at Austin Central Library's 2nd Floor Gallery from March 13 to May 23, 2023.
The exhibition, produced by the Austin City of Media Arts UNESCO Steering Committee and the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department, featured collaborative digital art from nine global media artists, including representatives from Changsha, York, Karlsruhe, Košice, and Austin. Artists in attendance included ARCOS, Nick Harbaugh, Faiza Kracheni, Liz Rodda, and Lisa B. Woods.
