Plan B
Plan B is a 1-minute video in the style of a nature documentary. The focus, however, is not on live bees but on a pollination robot called BrambleBee. Comprised of found footage, the video follows the robot as it traverses an artificial orchard, identifies a plant with a bloom, and pollinates the flower.
The music is playful, and my voiceover is tongue-in-cheek, but the message is a critique. The title is a silly pun for the serious contingency planning the ag-tech is investing in, in case our insect pollination can no longer keep pace with our agricultural systems.
Plan B is part of the Uncanny Interventions series which explores artificial pollination.

We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one. There can be no 'Plan B' because there is no 'Planet B.'
