Re(cognition explores the intersection of African diaspora culture with technology.

Blackness is often excluded in visions of technologically driven progress. In Re(cognition I propose an Afrofuturistic vision of black womanhood that is bold, technological, and boundless.

Black women’s braided hair is a source of pride, confidence, community, and creativity in how we present ourselves to the world.
